Walking Tai Chi Chi Kung is essentially Tai Chi Chuan itself. Most of the walking movements are adapted from the Tai Chi sequence, the only difference being that a single movement is repeated continuously until you can feel the movement of Chi. Since you are only doing one basic movement it is easy to remember and master, and you can put all your attention on being relaxed, centered, and balanced, and thereby regulate your body. Then you can start regulating your breathing and mind, which is the key to leading your Chi. Walking Tai Chi Chi Kung should be trained before the beginner starts learning the Tai Chi sequence. Experienced practitioners often practice walking Tai Chi Chi Kung to penetrate to a deeper understanding of Chi, the mind, and the body.
