Overcome Your Limiting Beliefs
If you are having trouble getting to a smiling space with your partner, you may need to supplement it with more chi kung practice, healing sounds, or pull out the heavy artillery like the Fusion of the Five Elements. It trains you to eat negative emotions for breakfast before they eat you for lunch.
When doing Qigong exercise, we use sensation of the body to feel the moving Qi. How we use our mind influences the flow of Qi. Positive thoughts, for example, encourage you to gain back your health and instantaneously direct Qi in optimal ways. Negative thoughts, on the other hand, discourage you from fulfilling your task, block energy, and create sickness.
A few nights ago, my brother was involved in an altercation with a young thug. Fortunately, my brother was unhurt. However, the story of this event illustrates the true spirit of the martial arts, so here it is. -Michael Kelly, DO At about 11pm while walking out of a local pub in NYC, Gene and his friends heard a loud crash and the sickening sound of crushed steel. A crowd quickly gathered around the scene of the accident to see what had happened. No one seemed to notice the young thug approaching with three of his friends. The young thug had a shaved head, earrings in multiple sites, and a bad attitude. His three friends were of the same look and mindset. Everyone thought the thug was involved in the accident because he walked up to the driver of the mutilated taxi and started to yell at him. The driver of the taxi was a small, feeble, old man approximately 5'2'' and 130lbs. His small-framed, circular glasses covered most of his aged face, but he appeared to be in his 60's. He...
The Daoist view is that the inner chi field of consciousness is preexisting, and generates all material and bodily forms as well as our psychic structure. If you are a self-convinced materialist, then practicing the Inner Smile is a great way to explore the chi field and challenge or test those limiting beliefs.
For health preservation, practice the exercise once in the morning and once at night. Increase the frequency of practice if it is done to treat disease. Lead a regular life with a moderate sex life. Defecate before practice and dress in loosely fitted clothes. Be natural and quiet, and avoid negative thoughts.
The Taoist sages of ancient China observed that humans often develop energy blockages in their internal organs that result in knots and tangles in their abdomens. These obstructions occur at the center of the body's vital functions and constrict the flow of Chi (energy), our life force. The excessive negative emotions of fear, anger, anxiety, depression and worry cause the most damage. When obstructed, the internal organs store unhealthy energies that can overflow into other bodily systems and surface as negative emotions and sickness. Always in search of an outlet, these negative emotions and toxic energies create a perpetual cycle of negativity and stress. If the negative emotions cannot find an outlet, they fester in the organs or move into the abdomen, the body's garbage dump. The abdomen can process some emotional garbage but with frequent dumping, the energetic center of the body located at the navel becomes congested and cut off from the rest of the body.
To clean negative emotions out of the organs. Overview and Explanation Re-cycling Your Negative Emotions In the following practices, fresh clean Qi, from Heaven and Earth, will be drawn through the sense organ Window to cleanse negative emotions out of the organs themselves, and thereby purify them. The negative emotions are then drawn from the organs to the Ba Gua. Once in the navel the emotions are 'broken down' into their harmless component parts, their purified essence, so that, like any toxin or poison, when they are reduced into their basic components they can no longer do any harm. In fact, the energy contained and locked up in them is released and your negative emotions are thereby 'Re-cycled', adding to your store of positive Qi. As you do this practice you are going to drain and cleanse negative emotions from your organs - Anger from the Liver, Anxiety from the Heart, Worry from the Spleen, Grief from the Lungs, and Fear from the Kidneys - and bring each of these emotions...
Widespread 'dis-ease' is a result of this sharp decline of a basic sense of cause and effect and a generalized lowering of Chi pressure and feeling of being threatened. This feeling of 'dis-ease' generates negative emotions which are then projected onto people who do not share our views of the world. Such tendencies towards racism and fundamentalism can only be overcome if we are all the same human being, sharing the same body and spirit and learning to truly value ourselves in our whole being.
Breathe normally, focus on your spleen, and start the spleen healing sound movements. As you inhale, slowly raise hands and place index and middle finger of both hands at the bottom left of breastbone. Press gently and look straight ahead, eyes level. In this position, exhale and make the spleen healing sound. Release excess wet, sticky, heavy energy and gas from your spleen. Let go of all worry and negative thoughts. Breathe normally and slowly return hands to lap with your palms up, (rest position). Breathe naturally and be aware of your spleen. Close your eyes and breathe into your spleen, bright yellow-gold light. Visualize this light radiating from, around and through your spleen. With each This last exercise is done best lying on your back with legs extended and hands at your sides. Breathe normally and relax. Inhale and feel your body expand. Anger and intense worry devitalize the whole bioplasmic body so that the body becomes susceptible to all kinds of diseases. Negative emotions cause disturbances in the bioplasmic body so that the whole physical body becomes sick. You may have experienced that after an intense anger or an intense altercation, you felt physically exhausted or became sick. This is because both the bioplasmic and visible physical bodies are drained of prana and became susceptible to infection. In the understanding of diseases, one should take into consideration the external and internal factors or the seen and unseen causes. External factors mean those physical factors which contribute to disease like germs, malnutrition, toxins, pollutants, lack of exercise, poor breathing habits, insufficient water intake, etc. Internal factors mean the emotional and bioplasmic factors which contribute to diseases, such as negative emotions, blocked meridians, pranic depletion and congestion, chakral malfunctioning,...
As a rule, these have accumulated in our bodies and their organs and glands as the sediment of early traumas which we have not been able or willing to give up. We may even have cherished them, as they give us reason to continue living in a state of separation and depression, so that we can justify our state of dis-ease and negative emotions.
Grow if the mind is freed from negative emotions and mental states and learns to practice emptiness. Then it can create the conditions for new fullness and one can see that life consists of cycles fullness and emptiness, living and dying, beginnings and ends, old and new, seasons and phases, days and nights, mornings and evenings, and dark and light.
There is nothing wrong with material things. There is nothing wrong in wanting a beautiful house or a fine car or wanting the best things in life for your children. All of these things are fine. But focusing on them, struggling to get them, fearing that you won't have them, all of this causes your energy to be out of balance. It can cause stress and other negative emotions that cause blockages and sooner or latter will result in disease. And, what is disease but dis-ease.
This exercise is another mean of increasing the flow of Chi to the muscles and the bones, squeezing out toxins, sediment, waste material, and negative emotions that have become stored in the muscles. Once these negative qualities are cleaned out, positive ones have room to grow. Positive emotions relax the muscles and the entire body.
That means our physical breath, our heart beat, our blood flow, our every sensation of pleasure and pain, all our positive and negative feelings and thoughts, our every moment of soul-suffering as well as soul-bliss - all these arise from a unified field of intelligent, basically neutral energy at the core of our being.
Always start with warming the stove at the abdomen and direct the fire down to the sexual center to transform the sexual energy. Next practice the Cosmic Inner Smile. The Cosmic Inner Smile is a powerful relaxation and self-healing technique that uses the energy of love, happiness, kindness and gentleness as a language to communicate with the internal organs of the body. Each organ corresponds to a specific element and color. For example, the kidneys will consist of the element of water and the color blue. The heart will consist of the element of fire and the color red. This makes it very easy to guide the healing power into each organ by using the appropriate color. The practice also aids the transformation of negative emotions into positive virtuous energy. This transformation is a very powerful Chi Kung practice. A genuine smile transforms negative energy into loving energy that has the power to relax, balance and heal. By learning to smile inwardly to the organs and glands, your...
Let's briefly consider some thorny issues facing a serious spiritual seeker. Let me say up front that I am not trying to convert anybody to believe anything. I don't really care what your religion or your beliefs are. A Daoist accepts all religions as carrying valuable truth for its believers. There has never been a religious war in China, despite it's invasion by Buddhists and Muslims at different times in history. Daoist process allowed them to simply absorb from other religions anything it felt was useful and in alignment with natural truth.
The xinxing referred to in Falun Gong cannot be fully encompassed by virtue alone. It encompasses much more than virtue. It encompasses many different facets of things, including those of virtue. Virtue is only one manifestation of one's xinxing, so using only virtue to understand the meaning of xinxing is inadequate. Xinxing encompasses how to deal with the two matters of gain and loss. Gain is to gain conformity to the nature of the universe. The nature that comprises the universe is Zhen-Shan-Ren. A cultivator's degree of conformity to the nature of the universe is reflected in the amount of his or her virtue. Loss is to abandon negative thoughts and behaviors, such as greed, the pursuit of personal gain, lust, desire, killing, fighting, theft, robbery, deception, jealousy, etc. If one is to cultivate to high levels, one also needs to break with the pursuit of desires, something inherent in humans. In other words, one should let go of all attachments and take lightly all matters of...
The solar plexus is the clearing house for emotional energy and is situated in between the lower and higher energy centers and in the center of most of the internal organs. All the organs dump their negative emotions here. The internal organs can be cleansed by sweeping the solar plexus, energizing, cleaning and flushing it of sick energy. When you feel sick energy in the body, give the command Stay . This is very important it makes sure that none of the cells hide from the dazzling light that you are sending in.
Negative Emotions When you pass your hand over the liver, under the right side of the rib cage, you will feel a charged energy come up to your hand. This is a sign of anger in the liver. Negative Emotions Pass your hand over the lungs. Do the Lungs' Sound and listen to the echo of the sound as it rebounds from the lungs. Sadness will feel like a deflating ball pressed between your hands. Negative Emotions Hot and charged energy indicates impatience, hastiness and arrogance in the heart. Negative emotions Energy that feel damp and sinking indicates excessive worry. Negative emotions Energy that feels cold and chilly indicates fear.
I look at the tourists in Hawaii where I live. They are all very happy because they have no stress and lots of good, fresh air. In this kind of environment, their attitude will automatically be good. Stress can easily cause us to have a bad attitude and can cause us to be unhappy. It will also cause us to be tired and at the end ill. We may even have a serious illness. When we practise Skating on Ice, with a happy attitude, then it will help release our stress and make our bodies light. A light body is not just about being small or skinny. It is about your mental attitude and also the strength of your bones and the good flow of Qi in the body.
The second thing is to keep your cells free of excess emotions. Develop the skill of acting positively to situations, rather than reacting, especially negatively. Don't allow anyone to make you sad and unhealthy. Some people like to say, You make me angry, or You made me worry. We cannot allow other people to make us so emotional. We do not need to accept the negative emotions that other people try to dump on us. Cellular and psychic boundaries are related. Negative emotions disturb the cells' ability to absorb Chi and to generate the energy necessary for healing. We need all the Chi that we can get. Learn and apply the Six Healing Sounds, the Cosmic Inner Smile and the Fusion of the Five Elements meditation to transform negative emotions into personal power.
Are you a lively person who thinks positively Are you a lucky person If you are cheerful by nature, others will want to be with you. They'll sense that they tend to receive good luck through you and that they can feel comfortable around you even without conversation. The reverse holds true as well. If you are a gloomy person characterized by negative thinking and bad luck, others will feel constrained and stay away.
You can rest, relax the brain in the head by using the 'brain in the gut.' This is the first step. The first thing we learn in the Tao is to forgive and let go. When we keep on remembering past negative emotions, we will stop seeing the truth. To let go of the past is to empty the mind and use the abdominal mind, the awareness and consciousness. Here's an interesting point in the way of the Tao This gut brain can do a lot of simple functions that are similar to the functions of the brain in the head. This is a feeling and awareness type of functioning similar to many of our 'right brain' functions. However, we need to use the brain in the head in order to perform complex functions such as reasoning, making plans and making complex calculations. For rational functions, we need to use the brain in the head for the 'left brain' functions.
Although any number of days of wilderness training is good, three days seems to be the necessary minimum for really emptying the cup and taking one's practice to a new level. We conduct excursions of three, five or seven days in length. We find these particular lengths to be meaningful simply because they remind us of mind-body-spirit the four cardinal directions and the centre point or the five elements and the seven stars of the Big Dipper (the Jade Ladle). The length is not of central importance. What is most important is the long-lasting effects of wilderness Qigong on our practice after we return from an excursion. We find that our practice is invigorated for up to a month after our return. The benefits occur at several levels. By purifying ourselves, negative thoughts and worries are dispelled, giving us more relaxation
As well as the negative emotions that have become stored in the and too many negative emotions, these substances will back up Once the negative emotions are cleaned out, the positive (1) Relax the hand muscles. Then, use the mind to tighten the hand muscles and squeeze the muscles to the bones of the radius and ulna (the bones of the forearm) tightly. Hold the muscles firmly to the bones for 30 to 60 seconds. Exhale strongly through the mouth, then totally relax the muscles and the shoulders. Feel the rush of Chi as the toxic tensions and negative emotions, such as fear of attack, leave the muscles. Feel the positive emotions, such as recognizing the way to proceed, letting the life-force enter into the muscles. (3) Relax the legs. Inhale and squeeze the muscles around the fibula and tibia (the bones of the lower leg) tightly to the bones. Hold them tightly for 30 to 60 seconds and exhale. Relax the muscles, letting go of the toxins and accumulated negative emotions such as hesitation...
Bring the energy up to your feet, into your bones. Let it enter all the bones, organs and cells. Feel it blending with all the sick energy. Turn your palm up, turn it back down again and exhale let go of all the sick energy, the negative energy, the worries and the burdens all the way down to the earth. Down, down, down to the earth. Again from the earth up. Do it at least three, six or nine times. When people are very sick, you need to clean them thoroughly. Bring the earth energy up into your bones again. Feel numb, tinkling electricity flowing in all your cells. Return the energy down, down, down to the earth. Relax, let go worries, burdens, let everything go. It is very important to say to yourself or group You must let go of all your sick energy. Let go of all your burdens. Let go of all your worries, down to the earth . Repeat it once again. Inhale from the universe and into the earth. From the earth let it enter into your bones. From the bones all the way to your inner self....
