Qigong movements are designed to help open energy channels in the body and enhance the flow of Qi. When you sit or stand erect you are helping to open the back channel along the spine which is the governing channel in the body. When you open your hand and spread your fingers a little, you are not o nly opening all the channels in t he h and you are also opening the lung channel.
Raising both arms straight above your h ead is an other simple Qigong movement t hat helps to open energy channels in your lungs and can help clear your sinuses, help stop coughing and even help with headache. The more severe the problem the longer you will need to hold your arms up to open the energy channels.
