Are you a lively person who thinks positively? Are you a lucky person? If you are cheerful by nature, others will want to be with you. They'll sense that they tend to receive good luck through you and that they can feel comfortable around you even without conversation. The reverse holds true as well. If you are a gloomy person characterized by negative thinking and bad luck, others will feel constrained and stay away.
Though we don't usually think seriously about these matters, we are influenced by the flow of qi whenever we communicate or align ourselves with others. This is why I would suggest that you maximize your contact with people who are cheerful and lucky, while making an effort to become such a person yourself.
These days, an increasing number of people are practicing all kinds of exercises, including qigong. Some develop a sensitivity to qi, and then gradually attain a deep understanding of other people's suffering. Since they align themselves with the suffering and guilt of others, at times they become gloomy themselves. In order to prevent this, it is important to remember that human beings are meant to live freely and pleasantly. Being congnizant of the principles of freedom and pleasure is one of the most important things a qi trainee can do. If trainees overlook this important principle, training in qigong can have negative effects, such as depression or feelings of emptiness. If trainees must associate with people who attract bad luck or whose qi energy is weak, they should wait until they have mastered the way to absorb external qi from the earth and space through the Macrocosmic Orbit method.
